The Architecture of Thought

Academic writing is precise, objective, and structured. It is the language of universities and research journals. It avoids "I think" and relies on evidence.

The Thesis Statement One sentence that controls the whole essay. It is your argument. Everything you write must support this sentence. If it doesn't, cut it.

Hedging Academics are rarely 100% sure. They use "hedging" language: "It suggests that," "It is likely that," "Evidence points to." This shows nuance and scientific humility.

Citation "According to Smith (2020)..." You stand on the shoulders of giants. Citing your sources is not just avoiding plagiarism; it is proving you have done the reading.
