The Art of the Email
In business, you are what you write. A sloppy email suggests a sloppy mind. A clear email suggests authority.
Brevity is King No one reads long emails. Get to the point. "BLUF" (Bottom Line Up Front). State the request in the first sentence.
Tone Check Email lacks tone of voice. A simple "Do this" can sound rude; "Could you please do this?" is polite. "Per my last email" is passive-aggressive code for "I already told you!"
The Subject Line It decides if your email gets opened. Make it specific. Instead of "Meeting," write "Meeting Req: Q3 Budget Discussion."
