The Fourth Estate

Journalism is called the "Fourth Estate" because it checks the power of the government. Writing news requires objectivity, speed, and accuracy.

The Inverted Pyramid Put the most important facts (Who, what, where, when, why) at the top. The details come later. This way, if the reader stops, they still know the news.

Bias and Agenda Every outlet has a bias. CNN, Fox, BBC. They frame stories differently. Reading "laterally" (checking multiple sources) is how you find the truth.

The Headline Clickbait. "You won't believe what happened next!" Headlines are designed to steal your attention. Learn to separate sensationalism from fact.
