Great code needs great coders. Great sales need great sellers. Recruitment is the most strategic function of HR.
Culture Fit Skills can be taught; attitude cannot. "Hire for attitude, train for skill." Failing to fire a toxic genius destroys the team.
Retention Getting them is half the battle; keeping them is the war. People leave managers, not companies. Perks (free food) are nice, but purpose is better.
