The Radical Candor

Performance reviews are uncomfortable. But without feedback, people do not grow. The goal is "Radical Candor": Caring personally while challenging directly.

The Sandwich Method Positive comment, Negative comment, Positive comment. (e.g., "Great effort. The report was late. But I love your attitude."). Some say this is outdated and dishonest. Be direct.

KPIs Key Performance Indicators. You can't improve what you don't measure. Setting clear goals (SMART goals: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) is essential.

Firing The hardest part of the job. "Letting someone go." It must be done with dignity and clarity. It is a failure of the hiring process, not just the person.
