What does it mean to be a citizen of the world? It means recognizing that our challenges—climate change, pandemics, inequality—know no borders. We are connected.
Cosmopolitanism The ancient Greek idea that we are all "citizens of the cosmos." It rejects narrow nationalism. It embraces diversity as a strength, not a threat.
Human Rights The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Freedom of speech, freedom from fear. These are not just laws; they are the shared values of humanity. But they are fragile and must be defended.
Responsibility With rights come responsibilities. To protect the planet, to help the vulnerable, to speak truth to power. Being a global citizen is active, not passive.
