Why Are We Here?

The ultimate question. Science tells us how (Evolution, Big Bang), but it cannot tell us why.

Hedonism vs. Eudaimonia Hedonism is the pursuit of pleasure (good food, fun). Eudaimonia (Aristotle) is "flourishing" or fulfilling your potential. Pleasure is fleeting; Eudaimonia is lasting.

Legacy Maybe the meaning is what we leave behind. Our children, our work, our kindness. "To plant exactly the trees under whose shade you will never sit."

The Journey Or maybe there is no destination. The meaning is the dance itself. Being present. Mindfulness. Enjoying the cup of tea.
