The Examined Life

Socrates said, "The unexamined life is not worth living." Philosophy is not just for academics; it is the software of our minds. How do we decide what is right and wrong?

Utilitarianism "The greatest good for the greatest number." Choosing the action that makes the most people happy. It sounds logical, but can lead to sacrificing the minority.

Deontology (Duty) Some rules must never be broken. Lying is wrong, even if it saves a life. This focuses on the action, not the result.

Existentialism "Existence precedes essence." We are born with no purpose; we must create our own. We are "condemned to be free." It is terrifying and liberating.
