The Great Game

Geography is destiny. Nations behave the way they do because of their maps. Mountains, rivers, and oceans dictate politics.

Soft Power vs. Hard Power Hard power is tanks and missiles. Soft power is Hollywood, K-Pop, and McDonald's. It is influence through attraction, not coercion. The most powerful nations use both.

The Multipolar World For a while, the USA was the only superpower (Unipolar). Now, China, India, and the EU are rising. We are entering a "Multipolar" world. It is more balanced, but more unstable.

Diplomacy The art of letting someone else have your way. Diplomats prevent war through talk. It is a slow, frustrating, but essential process.
