The Paradox of Clean Energy 🔋

EVs and Solar panels need batteries. Batteries need minerals like Lithium, Cobalt, and Nickel. Mining these is a dirty business.

Cobalt mainly comes from Congo, often mined by children in dangerous conditions. Lithium mining in South America uses massive amounts of water in dry deserts.

This is the 'Green Dilemma': harming the local environment to save the global climate. Scientists are racing to invent 'Sodium-ion' batteries (using salt) or recycling methods to reduce reliance on mining.
