Generation Rent 🏠

For Baby Boomers, buying a house was a standard milestone. For Millennials and Gen Z, it is becoming a fantasy. Home prices have skyrocketed faster than wages.

Why? 'Supply and Demand'. We aren't building enough homes.

  • NIMBYs (Not In My Back Yard): Local homeowners who block new apartments to preserve 'neighborhood character' (and their property values).
  • YIMBYs (Yes In My Back Yard): Activists fighting for zoning reform and density.
  • Corporate Landlords: Big firms buying up starter homes.

The result is 'Gentrification' and homelessness. Cities are becoming playgrounds for the rich.
