Adjectives describe Nouns.

  • Big house. Red car. The boy is happy.
  • Adjectives usually go before the noun or after verb 'To Be'.

Adverbs describe Verbs.

  • He runs quickly.
  • She speaks softly.
  • Usually formed by adding -ly to an adjective. (Quick -> Quickly)
  • Irregular: Good -> Well (NOT Goodly). Fast -> Fast (Same).

Wait, Adverbs can also describe adjectives! (Very hot. Really good). these are adverbs of degree.
