Adding Drama 🎭
Inversion means putting the Auxiliary Verb BEFORE the Subject (like a question) for emphasis. Used in formal/literary English.
Usage: After Negative Adverbs (Never, Seldom, Rarely, Hardly).
- Normal: "I have never seen such a thing."
- Inversion: "Never have I seen such a thing."
- "Rarely do we see snow here."
- "Hardly had I arrived when it rained."
