Identifying People & Things 🆔

Relative clauses give information about a noun.

Defining Clauses are ESSENTIAL. They tell us which one we are talking about. NO COMMAS.

  • People: Who / That.
    • "The man who lives next door is nice." (Which man? The next-door one).
  • Things: Which / That.
    • "The car that I bought is fast."
  • Owner: Whose.
    • "The girl whose cat died..."
